Reach Studios is looking for a talented Ecommerce Developer that will be building and maintaining an array of eCommerce websites. Your main tasks will be to implement themes & extensions, ensure that security patches are installed and maintain existing functionality. You will also be responsible for developing new modules and applying any required customisation.
We’re looking for someone with at least two years of experience building & improving the web, with a passion and attitude that fits well with our team.
Working closely with our in-house development team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Building & maintaining the features & functionalities for a number of ecommerce stores.
- Working alongside our developers to ensure that all code is consistent, efficient, and maintainable.
- Working on multiple development projects and delivering on time.
- Optimising the performance of the websites to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise, working closely with other members of the team to ensure timely resolution.
- Working with APIs to integrate various back-end services and databases such as ERP & WMS software.
- Working closely with the design team to ensure websites are user-optimised and easy to navigate.
- Installing updates and security patches.
- Staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in ecommerce and web development, making recommendations for improvement and optimisation.
- Responsible for the deployment pipeline and maintaining live code on the server
The ideal candidate
- At least 1-2 years of experience in web development, with a focus on eCommerce
- Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, XML & JavaScript
- Experience with front-end frameworks such as Alpine.js and TailwindCSS is a plus
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent problem-solving, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cross-browser and device compatibility issues, constraints and solutions.
- Proficient in translating visual wireframes and UI prototypes into digital experiences.
- Understanding of responsive design and building for a mobile experience.
- Experience in the area of performance optimisation (optimising code and database queries, minifying CSS and JavaScript files, deferring render-blocking resources and off-screen images, implementing server side caching technologies (Redis, Varnish), and CDN setup.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Magento 2 development and architecture
- Understanding of Shopify theme & integration development
