ROLE FILLED

We have an opportunity for a Front End Developer with strong problem solving skills, and great attention to detail to join our talented in-house development team.

We’re looking for someone with at least five years of experience building & improving the web, with a passion and attitude that fits well with our team.

Reach Studios is looking for a talented Front End Developer that will get the opportunity to work on an array of exciting web projects, including websites, web applications and integrations. Your main tasks will be to build high performance websites and highly proficient web applications for our partners. This includes new projects and improving pre-existing projects too.

Our technology

We use modern Javascript (ES6+) frameworks such as Next.js & Alpine.js but a strong understanding of underlying vanilla JS is a must.

Our applications are data driven, you should be comfortable working with REST and GraphQL APIs (3rd-party integrations & in-house) to integrate and extend the services we provide to our array of clients.

A solid knowledge of CSS & modern layout techniques such as CSS Grid & flexbox is required. Familiarity with Tailwind or similar CSS frameworks is a bonus.

We also partner with multiple server / hosting providers such as ANS Group & KDAWS.com to offer the best experience and value to our partners.

What to expect

Your role will kick off with mastering our stack and getting stuck in on a handful of great projects, shadowing other developers and getting up to speed. You’ll drop into our sprint kick-offs and stand-ups so you have exposure to our processes and learn how we work and who we are.

You’ll help to develop, debug and improve products working alongside other developers and creatives. How do we QC and test work? We have a code review, UAT protocol & GIT deployment process in place.

About you

You are more than a <DEV>, we are building a team with talent, but the individual behind the code is who we want to meet.

When meeting you, we’ll also take a look at your technical interests and track record. Things we’re looking for in a technical capacity include readable, secure, accessible, testable, standards-compliant code.

We’re always growing and learning new things. We would expect you to keep up-to-date with developments within the software development industry & be excited about proposing new solutions to our clients’ needs

A graduate degree is not a necessity. We welcome applications from self-taught developers and graduates alike.

Culture

We have embraced a flexible, hybrid working culture, so pick and choose where you work, with our only preference being that you’re in the office often enough for us to get to know you.

If you are coming into the office, we work from the iconic Hillsborough Barracks, so driving or public transport are taken care of, we have an ample offering of free parking too.

We will also give you the time, space and budget to learn new technologies and further your own knowledge as a developer.

We equip our development team with a Macbook or an Apple machine, of some description.
