Slack has been an integral piece of the Reach workflow for the last few years, and that won’t be changing any time soon. Slack has assisted the business in many positive ways, with the fast-paced agency environment, working across multiple projects simultaneously, long working weeks, it is imperative that communication is instant between the team.

Slack has assisted the business in many positive ways, with the fast-paced agency environment, working across multiple projects simultaneously, long working weeks, it is imperative that communication is instant between the team. Even if it’s just a quick ‘2 sugars please’.
Since integrating Slack into our workflow as one of our main communication channels, we have also been tasked with developing integrations for both ourselves and other clients to create a seamless connection between applications and teams.
There are so many great Slack integrations out there at the moment, some of which are ‘off the shelf’ and integrate with some of the big software brands and programs, but what if you need something a little more bespoke to a piece of software that is unique to you? That’s where we come in.
A few years ago we built a bespoke web application designed to manage production tasks, staff, freelancers and deadlines specifically for the Film Production industry. This application has since been used on TV and film projects for Amazon, BBC, Sky and ITV.
Our application has been there to ensure everything runs smooth and assists the general planning of the project, and in addition, this year we were asked by a few crew members to connect their application notifications to their Slack accounts and channels. With prior experience of creating web-hooks for Slack, we used the Slack API and built a custom integration to allow the software to push the notifications from the application to Slack. This worked really well and productivity is on a high!
